Terms-Of-Service
Last updated: 3 November 2025 By using braidhouse.com, the mobile app, or any BraidHouse services (the “Platform”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. These Terms form a binding agreement between BraidHouse (sole trader) and you as a client or braider. We operate as a UK-based marketplace connecting clients with independent braiders for hair braiding services.
-
Platform Overview and Role BraidHouse connects clients with independent braiders. We provide technology for bookings and payments but do not employ, manage, or supervise braiders (they are independent contractors). Services occur off-platform (e.g., public locations or braider’s home). We do not guarantee service quality, timing, or results.
-
Eligibility and Accounts Braiders must be 18 years or older to register and receive payouts. Clients must be 18+ or have verifiable parental/guardian consent. Stripe KYC automatically blocks payouts to anyone under 18 unless valid guardian consent is provided (which we do not accept). During braider registration, you must confirm: “I am 18+ and eligible to receive payments via Stripe.” We reserve the right to request photo ID at any time. Failure to comply will result in account suspension. Provide accurate information during registration. You are responsible for account security. Notify us immediately of any breaches via support@braid-house.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts for any violation of these Terms without notice or liability.
-
User Obligations and Conduct Use the Platform lawfully and comply with all Policies. Clients must book responsibly, communicate via in-app messaging until confirmed, and meet at the agreed location. Braiders must maintain verified profiles, accept only confirmed bookings, and provide professional services. Prohibited actions include harassment, explicit content, sharing personal details before confirmation, and fraud. Follow Safety & Trust Guidelines. Report issues to support@braid-house.com.
-
Bookings, Payments, and Fees Clients pay deposits (£20–£30 average) via Stripe. Full payment occurs off-platform. Commission & Minimum Fees (per booking): • Braider: 3% (minimum £0.99) • Client: 5% (minimum £1.19) Fees are automatically calculated and displayed at checkout and payout. No hidden fees. Payouts are processed via Stripe Connect. Braiders under 18 cannot receive funds without guardian consent (not supported on BraidHouse). You handle your own taxes. We report as required.
-
Meeting Location & Safety All hair braiding services take place off-platform at a location agreed between the client and braider. Braiders may offer their own home or studio as the service location if they choose to do so. This is at the braider’s sole discretion and responsibility. BraidHouse does not verify, inspect, or endorse any location. Both parties are responsible for their own safety and must follow common-sense precautions (e.g., well-lit areas, informing a friend). BraidHouse is not liable for any incidents, injuries, or disputes arising from the chosen location. Client Safety Cancellation Clients who do not feel safe with the agreed location (including the braider’s home) may cancel before arrival with no penalty. However, all fees paid — including the full deposit, Stripe processing fees, and BraidHouse platform fees — are non-refundable. No refund will be issued under any circumstances, even for safety concerns. The client may book a new appointment with a different braider and pay a new deposit.

Refund, Cancellation & Dispute Policy Deposits Are Generally Non-Refundable All deposits, Stripe processing fees, and BraidHouse platform fees are non-refundable under any circumstances, including cancellations, no-shows, disputes, or safety concerns. Refund Exceptions (Extreme Cases Only) Deposits may be refunded only in extreme circumstances (e.g., serious medical emergency, death in family, natural disaster). • Proof is required (e.g., doctor’s note, hospital letter, official document). • You must email the admin team at admin@braid-house.com with your booking ID and proof within 48 hours of the appointment. • BraidHouse decides at its sole discretion. No appeal. No compensation beyond refund (if approved). Cancellation (48 Hours Notice Required) To cancel a booking, you must notify the braider via in-app messaging with at least 48 hours notice before the scheduled appointment time. No refund will be issued. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice are not permitted and will result in full loss of deposit. Rescheduling (24 Hours Notice Required) To reschedule, you must request via in-app messaging with at least 24 hours notice before the scheduled appointment time. The braider decides if rescheduling is possible. If not possible, no refund. You must book a new appointment and pay a new deposit. Braider’s Policy Each braider’s rescheduling rules are clearly shown on their profile under “Rescheduling Policy”. You agree to it at booking. Disputes If you believe you have been unfairly treated (e.g., no-show, poor service, location issue), you may raise a dispute by emailing admin@braid-house.com with your booking ID and clear evidence (e.g., photos, timestamps, messages) within 7 days of the appointment. • Disputes without evidence are null and will be rejected immediately. • Repeated or baseless disputes (even with explanation) may result in account termination or a permanent ban from BraidHouse services at our sole discretion. BraidHouse may mediate but is not obligated to. No refunds or compensation will be issued under any circumstances. Final decision rests with BraidHouse.
